I have to vote absentee to work the poll. That lets me use a paper ballot and avoid the bmd and qr code. I am going to keep a copy of my ballot and hand deliver my request and ballot to the election office. Cherokee County uses paper poll slips in addition to the poll pad which is subject to hacking per the movie Kill Chain. My ballot will be counted on the scanner in the Stone election building. The bmd scannners do not read hand marked ballots. To count absentee ballots for every registered voter in Cherokee county on the hand marked ballot scanner will take approximately 7 hours. It will take longer for larger counties and will require poll watchers for extra time. Everybody has this choice at this time. I have additional questions about absentee ballot before and after the election security while waiting to be scanned. As they can start scanning early if they get a lot of absentee ballots I have questions about security after scanning also. (I was satisfiied with the absentee ballot security.) There is no point in creating an unsecure paper trail. Since Cherokee IT does not need Dominion to administrate the election I have questions about whether or not Dominon currently has passwords to the system and what checks are made to detect unauthorized access of the system, and how any updates are made to the system if Dominion does that or if Cherokee IT does it and any time constraints on updates. (I was not sure checks for unauhorized access was adequate. Only the Cherokee IT person and the Secretary of State’s office have the system password.) I will be dropping off my absentee ballot request today. Absentee ballot requests have to be in 11 days before the election. To use a paper ballot I recommend printing the form and hand delivering it completed to the elections office to prevent any shenanigans coming or going. You can download the form below. While we can all make this choice at this time and have the first duty to protect our own vote, we are effected by malfeasance on the part of others the same as if our ballot is thrown in the trash. Therefore, protecting our vote requires asking for the emergency paper ballots statewide. As long as Dominion QR code readers which do not comply with law are the used (and in fact all bmd systems and poll pads are hackable) voting system, non compliance with law in letting us verify our vote is the best argument for using the emergency paper ballots at the polls. Being as Dominion is required by law as having been selected by the Secretary of State though it is illegal, I do not see any elections board moving to paper ballots without court orders to do so. I think filing emergency suit in federal court to use paper ballots asking for injunctive relief from using Dominion is the best way to effect this for the entire state and protect everybody’s vote. We have to consider giving them time to have enough ballots, time is of the essence. I have no idea how to file such a suit but am happy to pay the filing fee for same if an attorney is available to file it.
Absentee ballot requests have to be received by the elections office 11 days before the election. Download it, print it, complete it, and hand deliver it to the elections office. On your ballot when received complete it immediately, copy both sides, hand deliver it to the elections office.
