A voter in Georgia now has to consider all candidates for office to try to bypass as much corruption as possible. There is the option of voting for write in candidates. Valid write in candidates are legally declared as candidates and qualified to receive votes. For a write in vote to count in Georgia it must be for a legally declared and qualified candidate. As implied by the name the candidate name will have to be written in taking care to enter it just as the name the candidate qualified with. Lists of write in candidates are supposed to be available in the poll. You may need to ask for them if they are not posted. If you are interested in considering all candidates including write-in candidates ask a pollworker to see the write in candidate list. Should they not know ask for the poll manager or contact your elections office from an area outside where phones are not allowed. The list of write in candidates is not required to be in with absentee ballots. A voter can check write in candidates on the Secretary of State MVP https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/ web site. Checking that and investigating all candidates and noting any write in candidates you wish to vote for is a good plan for every vote. If you are supposed to have write in candidates but do not see any ask the poll manager to help you or if voting absentee contact your election office. Should you not see or be able to get write-in candidate information in the poll, please advise by the contact form below. Write in candidates are not required to qualify until September in Georgia so they will not be in a primary or primary runoff. Below is a video that shows how to vote write in. I recommend voting absentee if possible and keeping a copy to assure there is a way to account for write in votes. June 5, 2026 is the last day to request an absentee ballot in Georgia. Voting absentee write in is much the same as in the poll. You just fill in the write in circle and on the line write the name of the candidate you wish to vote for by writing the name the candidate qualified under. You can download and print write-in candidate information below. Use the print option to be sure you write-in the correct name. You will not be allowed to access your phone in the voting area so tuck your selections on a piece of paper in your pocket.
